The inspiration for our brand & menu is literally in the name...

   The tale of the "Yellow Rose Of Texas" is a historical piece of Texan, Mexican & African American folklore going back to 1836. It's the story of Emily D. West, a beautiful, light-skinned freed slave working alongside the Texas army during the Texas/Mexican war.

    During the final & decisive battle of San Jacinto, she snuck into the Mexican barracks and seduced General Santa Anna. Emily kept him occupied in his bunk (quite literally taking one for the team) distracting the General long enough for the Texas army to successfully ambush attack.

      As word got out about the Texas victory, the details of the ambush attack spread. The brave, light-skinned, beauty became the celebrated Texas hero known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas"!
